Elizabeth's 2nd Birthday Party

Elizabeth had a great birthday party for her 2nd Birthday.  We had some family and close friends over for some great smoked chicken, smoked brisket, cheesy potatoes, coleslaw and baked beans.  It was a great, simple birthday party and we all had a great time.

Elizabeth got to make the exciting announcement that she is going to be a big sister.  Since we were not able to teach her to say the words, we did it by making a shirt for her that stated the new fact.  She wore it proudly and it was a while before anyone in the family said anything about it.  Finally my sister broke the silence.

She ended up getting a ton of presents, and was having fun opening them this time with Daddy and Grandma Connie's assistance.  She is getting the hang of it and by next year, we will have a hard time putting presents under the Christmas tree without her opening them all before Christmas!

We finally went back to the kitchen to have cake and ice cream.  The candles were lit, and we started singing Happy Birthday to Elizabeth.  By the end, she was in tears!  I don't know if she thought we were all screaming at her or what, but evidently having that many people across the table from her, singing to her was not her cup of tea!  The chocolate cake was made by Daddy and it has delicious cream cheese frosting.  Yummy!!!
