Schulze Family Christmas 2011

We had a nice low key Christmas morning at home this year.  Okay, I may be fibbing a little bit.  Elizabeth was not a happy camper and refused to open many of her gifts.  She screamed a lot prior to opening even one gift and wasn't even interested until I started to open my gifts.

Once we got going though, it did go okay.  She wanted to stop and play with each of her gifts before moving on to the next one, and while normally I would say that was just fine, we were on a time schedule that needed to be kept if we were to make it to church that morning on time.  So she just ended up opening the rest of her gifts that evening.  Which was okay, but not quite as fun as in the morning.

Our tree was a very simple one that wasn't perfectly shaped by any means.  I absolutely love the "Charlie Brown" trees, for the simple fact that they have character and are so very unique.  All we hung on the tree this year were white lights and our ornaments, many of which are over 30 years old and are from William and my childhoods.  The only thing that could have made this tree more festive would have been some hand strung popcorn with cranberries, but Wesley the dog would have made a quick snack out of them, so we decided against those this year.  Maybe someday we will be able to string them on our tree.

  1. I can just imagine Wes pooping out the string used for the popcorn and cranberries. Maybe even an assorted ornament that got stuck to the string. Good call on leaving it out. :) LOL
