Christmas Program 2013

Libby loved participating in the program at church this year.  She was a wonderful little townsperson from Bethlehem!

She cooperated very well this year (unlike last year) and she even wore her costume (the head-dress) this time!  We enjoyed cookies, kool-aid and coffee after the program.  It was a wonderful time, even though it was so cold outside.  Eddie played in the back room with Dad most of the program because he was so energetic throughout the whole time!!!

TREFC Christmas Program

We had our Christmas Program at Church this past Sunday evening.  Grandma Connie had been practicing with Libby all year with a pretend microphone so that she may not be so afraid to get up on stage this year for the program. 

Lets just say it worked...

The two and three year olds were sheep in the program.  All except Libby because she refused to put on a costume.  She was the "black sheep" I guess.

Libby didn't do what she was supposed to do.  She decided the program was about her.  She stood in the center of the stage with the baby Jesus doll and held him on her shoulders and flung him around.

In order to acquire the baby Jesus doll (the doll was the "spare" in case baby Eva didn't cooperate), she had to fight with another little girl (Ellie).  They had a big blow out on stage.  I wish I could have gotten it on video.  It was hilarious.  Everyone was laughing. 

They had a bowl of treats toward the back of the stage for the little ones to go sit down and have a treat.  Libby took her sucker and went back to the center of the stage.  Everyone else in the program had to just work around her...

Then she decided it was time to head out to the congregation to say hello.  Mind you, we are still in the middle of the program.

Eddie enjoyed his first Christmas Program and his sister's antics.  Next year he will be able to join in the fun!

Note to self:  This year, work on getting her to want to wear the costumes.  She was the only kid who didn't put on their costume.  The only one.  Also, get her to cooperate and do what she is supposed to do, instead of whatever she wants.

On a bright note, everyone thought she was adorable and loved her "performance"...

Still Sleepy...

I ended up going home a little early from work yesterday, and I stopped at my Chiropractor's Office and was adjusted on my way home. After the adjustment I felt better, but still ended up taking it easy and sleeping.

Today, while I feel better, I am still really tired and am very glad that I can sleep in tomorrow morning (as long as the animals let me at least). We have our first public performance tonight and while I am excited for it, I am not looking forward to it as much as I had hoped. I have come to realize that doing these plays are just too tiring for me while having a full time job. I don't think I will be able to do another one. I don't think I will want to do another one! I am just too tired! Plus, every one of my tasks at home gets so far behind that it will take me a whole weekend of cleaning, just to catch up! I hate it when that happens!

I used every ounce of energy I had for the entire day while I was on stage this morning performing The Wizard of Oz.

I am going home to go to bed, just after I finish the absolute necessities at work.

2 down, 11 to go...

Performances of the Wizard of Oz that is. We have had our first two performances and they have both gone well. Not great, but well. The first three performances are for school kids, so they are enjoying them and it is giving us time to help work out some of the kinks!

Illness is still ravaging the cast, but we are managing to make it work with the members we have available on the performance dates. Luckily, none of the principal charachters have fallen ill yet... I better go knock on some wood and pray that it doesn't happen!

The Wizard of Oz

Practice has been going well for the production of The Wizard of Oz.

I have been involved in two practices so far (both were last week) and because I am in the first scene and last two scenes of the play only, I am not sure when my next practice will be!

I am still busy working on memorizing my lines (I have a fair amount to memorize) and always find it to be a struggle to get the lines memorized. I just need to keep reviewing the lines daily to make sure I get them memorized in a timely manner! We open on March 24th, so I only have a little over a month to get it all down!

It's Official...

The final cast list for the Wizard of Oz has been posted!

I will be playing Aunt Em and the Good Witch of the South. I am so excited to start practice and do the first read through of the script!
