Today, I am...

... thinking about fall.  Feeling the nesting instinct and wanting to make the home cozy and warm as the weather turns cooler.

... thankful for my father-in-law who came for the weekend and helped William sheetrock our garage.  They made it further than they thought they would, so that is great progress.

... from my kitchen 4 loaves of banana chocolate chip bread.  Yummy.

... reading my planner.  Trying to get the week figured out.

... hoping for a long fall season!  I need to get the two additional garden beds that Sue made this weekend (Thanks, Sue!) put in place and then filled with soil.  So excited to have this done so when spring arrives I am ready to plant vegetables!

... creating a clean house for the week.  Spent a lot of the day on Sunday cleaning the kitchen and getting the house ready for this week.

... hearing the sounds of heavy rain on the roof.

... around the house a couple of my jade plants are dying.  I just transplanted them into bigger pots this summer, but it seems that the soil they are in cannot hold any water.   I may need to put different soil in if I can't get them to revive.

... seeing paperwork pile up.  Need to work on way to control the clutter - possibly pull the filing cabinet from the closet and set up in the living room?

A few plans for the week...
Manicure/Pedicure
Financial Management Meeting
Workout 3 Times
Chiropractic Appointment
Campfire with the Ladies from Church?

Today, I am...

... thinking about the next room in our house to get its makeover.  My bedroom!  I am on the lookout for a new chest of drawers for William and I to share.  Has to be fairly large and have at least 6 (preferably 8) drawers.

... thankful for a husband that listens to me and tries hard to make my ideas come to life!

... from my kitchen pork and lentil soup with kale.  A large pot of it.  Enough to freeze and eat on for most of the week!

... reading pinterest links for decorating my bedroom.

... hoping for this week to be productive both in the office and at home.

... creating a menu plan for this week.  Now that it is getting cooler, I want warm foods.  Soups, potatoes, stews, etc.  And roasted vegetables.  Lots of roasted vegetables!

... hearing the sound of machinery working on the road.  Hopefully we will have new blacktop soon!

... around the house changing linens on all the beds.  So the laundry room is full of things to be washed!  And  I finally cleaned the shower.  No more science experiments growing in the drain!  And I had to shampoo (only used vinegar and hot water) our carpet on the stairs - dog peed on them again as she was running for the door.

... seeing leaves changing colors.  Quickly.

A few plans for the week...
Kindergarten school conference
Workout 3 times this week (very sore from Saturday's workout!!!)
Make appointment to take dog to vet.  Something has to be wrong with her bladder...
Financial Management review/budget meeting for October
Manicure/Pedicure

Today, I am...

... thinking about storage solutions for our garage.  Wanting to put a functional area in place near the door to store jackets, mittens, snowmobiling items, etc...  Pinterest to the rescue!

... thankful for my best friend.  She is such a wonderful rock for me when I need to discuss anything.  So grateful that God brought us together in this stage of life, even though we are many years apart in age!

... from my kitchen comes the smell of a large pork roast with herbs in the crock pot.  William and I prepped 8 lunch meals for us this week each consisting of a grilled turkey burger, wild rice and broccoli or green beans.  Should be nice to not have to think about what to prep for our lunches, since it is all taken care of.

... reading a new blog Simply Seven.  I am told this is a family that is local to me!  Which is always nice to see like minded people in my very own area!

... hoping to get the exterior frame of the garage door painted tonight.  I already sanded down the frame, washed it and let it dry.  Now it is just to get out there and do the painting.  Shouldn't take more than a half hour to finish the job!

... creating more plans to turn our house into a wonderful home.  Slowly but surely!

... hearing the space heater.  My toes are cold this morning.  Even though the temperature should hit 80 degrees F today, mornings are now chilly and refreshing in Wisconsin!

... around the house we built two raised bed gardens over the weekend with the help of my mother-in-law Sue.  It took us a long while to determine the placement of where they should go in the yard, but we finally found the perfect place!  I am so excited to build two more and get them filled with some rich black dirt before winter arrives.  Then, once spring comes, we will have a great gardening area close to the house!

... seeing the sunrise on my way to drop off the kids at daycare.  Beautiful.

A few plans for the week...
Finish backing up the digital photos from my work computer to our home laptop
Bake a loaf of bread
Manicure & Pedicure
Workout on Tuesday and Saturday
Baseball game on Thursday night

Today, I am...

... thinking about how I wish I loved all parts of my job.  Sadly, I don't and it weighs on me sometimes.  Changing my attitude has helped immensely, but I still need to work on it.

... thankful for a wonderfully happy little boy in the mornings.  He seems to offset the crabby girl and makes the mornings more bearable.  Plus, his snuggles are the BEST.

... from my kitchen comes the smell of re-heated breakfast pizza I made the other night.  And coffee.  Must have coffee.  Thanks to hubby for getting it all ready for me last night before bed.  All I had to do was heat the water in the kettle and pour it into the French Press.

... reading nothing.  I wish I had time to read something other than e-mails on a daily basis.  I just choose to do other things than read in my "free" time lately.

... hoping to dehydrate tomatoes tonight.  Farmer Bill (our neighbor) dropped off a pail full and I want to get them processed before they go bad!

... creating ideas on how to help the girl not be so crabby in the morning.  Need to work on this more and try different approaches.   Firm bedtime routine?  Earlier bedtime?  Other suggestions?

... hearing the sounds of business as usual.  The entire team is in the office today (minus the boss) so it is loud and busy.  Everyone seems tired though.  Not the laid-back atmosphere today!

... around the house I watered plants last night.  All the houseplants got a good soaking as they were looking very wilted.  Wishing I was at home today washing laundry and linens and line drying them!  And baking a loaf of bread and a huge pot of soup.  Man, that would be the best day ever!

... seeing the leaves begin to change color.  Fall is my favorite time of the year, but it just seems too soon for changing leaves.  Probably because I missed the annual Hanson Family Shoot and Hayride this year.  That always seems to signal the beginning of fall for me.

A few plans for the week...
I need to pick up a bulk order of rice at the Co-op this week.
Dehydrate the tomatoes.
Drop off donations to the Thrift Store.
Chiropractic appointment for entire family.
Order supplies from Mountain Rose Herbs for making lotion and chapstick.
Church's Fall Festival on Saturday.
Backup digital photos to new laptop from work computer.
Workout on Tuesday, Thursday (and possibly on Saturday).
Make a pot of soup.  Bake a loaf of bread.
Read a book - even for 10 minutes (maybe even go to the library and check out books with the kids!)
